Wendy’s Background
Wendy Schaetzel Lesko has nearly three decades of experience championing aspiring changemakers as co-founder of the Youth Activism Project. She has worked with a statewide coalition to collaborate with teen advocates and developed a national train-the-trainer module for grantees.
Now her commitment to interGEN collaboration is featured in her latest book, coauthored with 19-year-old Denise Webb, on how nonprofits and government agencies recognize the irreplaceable value of teens as co-strategists. Based in Washington D.C. Wendy has given hundreds of presentations from TEDxYouth to the U.S. State Department International Visitors Leadership Program.
Her experience as a community organizer with Cesar Chavez’s United Farm Workers Union and as a reporter covering the U.S. Congress contribute to her effectiveness as an advocate for deep youth civic leadership. Click here for Wikipedia bio.
